Public Forum: How Can We Improve Care for Pregnant and Parenting People?

The community joined us for a public forum to discuss ways to improve behavioral health services for pregnant and parenting people in Minnesota. We heard recommendations suggested by African American and Black US Born women, East African women, Indigenous/Native American women, Latina women, LGBTQ+ people, Southeast Asian women, and Women in rural areas throughout the state. Participants also shared their own suggestions as well to help the MN Department of Human Services expand and improve people-specific and family-centered services!

The community joined us for a public forum to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of behavioral health services for pregnant and parenting people in Minnesota. We learned about how these services are experienced and viewed by African American and Black US Born women, East African women, Indigenous/Native American women, Latina women, LGBTQ+ people, Southeast Asian women, and Women in rural areas throughout the state. Participants shared their own experiences as well to help the MN Department of Human Services expand and improve people-specific and family-centered services!
